About the Publication

A quiet record of rest and its patterns.

Oraneva Compendium began as a series of field notes on sleep hygiene practices and their observed relationship with body weight patterns over time. The publication does not chase trends. It keeps a record.

Each article is reviewed before publication, sources are noted where appropriate, and the editorial position favours patience over structured guidance-thinking. There is no urgency here — only observation.

Editorial Themes

Sleep Hygiene Practices

The habits that precede sleep matter as much as the hours spent in it. This section examines bedtime habits, screen-free evening routines, and sleep environment setup.

Circadian Rhythm

The body's internal clock does not negotiate. Notes on light exposure management, consistent wake time, and how the circadian system interacts with energy balance.

Body Composition & Rest

Observations on overnight metabolism, the role of restorative rest in energy balance, and what published research suggests about the sleep and weight connection.

Evening Wind-Down

A melatonin-friendly routine is built on small decisions made across the final hour. Notes on screen-free evenings, weighted blanket use, and low-stimulation environments.

Morning Energy Levels

The quality of a morning is set by the quality of the night. Writing on consistent wake time, natural light as an anchor, and morning energy as a measure of the previous evening.

Sleep Tracking Journal

Long-form notes on the practice of keeping a sleep tracking journal — what to record, what to ignore, and how patterns become visible across weeks rather than nights.

There is a logic to how a rested body manages its own weight across the week. It is not found in a morning ritual — it is set the night before.

Editorial Standards

How we select and review what is published.

The Oraneva Compendium operates under a set of editorial principles that prioritise accuracy, transparency, and a considered approach to the relationship between sleep and body composition. No article is published without a second editorial review.
